The General Area of Monadnock Rod & Gun Club
The General Area:
This area includes the grassy areas around the pond, the dam, the grassy and parking areas around the pavilion and the long deiveway into the Club over the culvert and up into the parking lot. Along with any and all of the outbuildings.
The Maintenance Committee is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of these areas.
The pavilion area is a place where many members like to take time to sit back and
relax in the breeze coming off the pond on a nice summer day.
A few members bring their families down on a calm Sunday afternoon
to enjoy a picnic lunch. With new footers having been put in late fall of 2001, we expect the
pavilion to double its life another 30+ years. With the lighting
on, the pavilion is functional 24 hours a day. Without the
need for major care and
maintenance of an enclosed clubhouse, these savings are passed on
via our low membership fees.
People may rent our pavilion to hold
get-togethers and functions. We annually host the Amoskeag Veterans' Bunker Hill Day meeting, as well as many other annual events.
Attached to the pavilion is our kitchen area. The kitchen is open during most scheduled events. There is a port-a-potty at the woodline on the trail to the Firearms Range for winter use, and there are full men's and women's restrooms on either side of the kitchen next to the pavilion which are open as temperatures permit. Meaning as soon as freezing temperatures are upon us, we close up the bathrooms until early spring. Alongside the pavilion
is ample parking, horseshoe pits and a large lawn area for netted
games and the like.
